THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All wars are against the world's cultures and civilisations and so those working in the cultural fields should unite against war, social activist Ninan Koshy has said. He was inaugurating an exhibition of historical photographs organised by the district committee of the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sanghom here on Thursday. American imperialism is working out fresh strategies for war; their aim is to use nuclear weapons for war, he said. In the new strategy for war, the enemy is not defeated but annihilated. Today's wars are not for establishing peace and are cruel and inhuman, he added. Mr. Koshy also released the book Why Fascism written by poet Prabha Varma. The first copy of the book was given to political activist Cherian Philip. In his address, Mr. Philip said the evocative pictures of the horrors of war would help people have a rethink on wars. The exhibition will be on at the YMCA hall till 8 p.m. on Friday.
