Renovated college office opened

KOCHI: District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish inaugurated the renovated office of Ernakulam Maharajas College here on Wednesday. The office has been equipped with modern facilities. Among them is one for processing requests submitted by students. Mr. Hanish also inaugurated a physical fitness centre, under the Department of Physical Education.Earlier, Mr. Hanish and Augustine A. Thomas, Principal, were felicitated for introducing programmes for the development of the college. — Staff Reporter

Sanskrit seminars

KOCHI: The Sree Sankaracharya Universtiy of Sanskrit will conduct Sanskrit seminars for Sanskrit teachers in Ernakulam and Muvattupuzha on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The first seminar will be held at SRV Higher Secondary School. Usha Kiran, District Education Officer, will preside over the function. On Sunday, the seminar will be held at the B.Ed. Centre of Mahatma Gandhi University at Muvattupuzha. — Staff Reporter

Musician honoured

KOCHI: Abraham Patanic, musician, was honoured by the eminent playback singer K.J. Jesudas on Wednesday during the Christian classical music evening. Dr. Jesudas also sang some of Patanic's classical compositions set in various Carnatic ragas. — Staff Reporter

Computer classes

KOCHI: Classes in computer and tailoring for homemakers, the elderly and children will be conducted by Kerala Brahmana Sabha's city unit with a special syllabus for each. Besides, vacation classes will be held in Chenda, Mridangam and beautician course.
