KOCHI: BPL Mobile has announced two new plans TalkHome299 and TalkRoom 499 for its post-paid customers and Recharge Card 899 for its prepaid customers. While the TalkHome 299 plan will allow post-paid customers of BPL Mobile to make calls to any phone across India at Re.1 per minute, the TalkRoam 499 plan will also enable customers to make and receive calls while roaming on BPL Mobile network at Re.1. On both these plans, local and national SMS is at Re.1 and local calls made from a BPL Mobile number to another BPL Mobile number will be charged at Re.1 for two minutes. For its prepaid customers, BPL mobile has introduced `Recharge Card 899' that will enable customers to make calls to any phone across India at Re.1 per minute. The `Recharge Card 899' has a validity of one month and offers talk time of Rs.550. While all local and STD calls and SMS will be charged at Re.1 a minute, standard rates will be applicable while roaming, according to a press release. The company has also announced reduction in ISD and STD call rates across all plans, both post-paid and prepaid. STD rate has come down by 24 paise across all plans with tariffs more than Rs.2.64. In addition, the STD promotional packages that offered reduced STD call rates of Rs.2.25 a minute at a monthly charge of Rs.25, will now offer STD call rate of Rs.2 a minute. STD rates dropped from Rs.2.99 to Rs.2.75 for double value post-paid plans and mots unlimited validity prepaid plan. However, the standard BPL mobile to BPL mobile and Hutch STD promotional offer of Re.1 a minute at a charge of Rs.25 a month will remain unchanged. The new ISD rate per minute for the zone comprising the U.S., Canada, South East Asia, etc., is Rs.7.2. The earlier rates were Rs.14.99 for post-paid and Rs.16.99 for prepaid. The new rate for the zone including SAARC countries is Rs.9.99. The former rates were Rs.14.99 for post-paid and Rs.16.99 for prepaid. For the zone comprising the Gulf, Middle East, UAE and Africa, the new rate is Rs.9.99. The earlier rates were 17.99 for post-paid and Rs.16.99 for prepaid.
