NEW DELHI: Two sisters were allegedly criminally assaulted by two men in a moving vehicle in neighbouring Noida this past Tuesday. The accused, members of a major political party, were arrested on Thursday after the victims lodged a complaint against them. According to the Noida police, the sisters, aged 20 and 16, had come to Sector-58 and were on their way back when the accused, Kirpal and Yoginder, offered them lift in their Maruti van. Since the sisters knew them, they agreed to take lift back home. However, one of the accused began misbehaving with the younger sister. When the elder sister resisted, the duo allegedly criminally assaulted both. The matter was reported to the police on Thursday and the accused arrested. A medical examination of the victims confirmed assault.
