Mathematics exam cancelled in one centre

SSLC examination goes off smoothly on second day

  • Re-exam to be held on Sunday
  • 80 cases of malpractice reported

    Bangalore: The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination was conducted smoothly all over the State on the second day, said T.M. Kumar, Director (Examinations), Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board.

    He told presspersons here on Friday that the mathematics examination was cancelled in Khajuri of Aland taluk in Gulbarga district. "Large-scale malpractice was reported by Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Chief Executive Officer of the Gulbarga Zilla Panchayat. It has been reported that outsiders entered the examination centre and provided the students guides and other copying material," he said. The re-examination will be held on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. The Chief Superintendent of the centre, Chand Bibi, and another official, H.M. Kodalahangara, have been suspended, he said.

    The number of malpractices reported on Friday was more than that reported the previous day. On the first day of the examination, 27 malpractice cases were registered in the State. On Friday, 80 cases were reported.
