NALGONDA: The three member action committee of the Jala Sadhana Samithi called off their 12-day fast-unto-death protest at the district headquarters hospital on Friday following an assurance from Collector K.Vijayanand on the compensation to be paid for the ryots who will lose their lands for the construction of irrigation projects. Nalgonda Revenue Divisional Officer Hari Singh offered coconut water to Vanguri Ramakka Madiga, (102), Muppidi Bhadraiah Yadav, (81), and Dubba Kondamma Madiga, (42), after the Collector held a meeting with JSS founder Dusharla Satyanarayna in his chambers in the Collectorate. Superintendent of Police M.M. Bhagwat and the Joint Collector, B.Sridhar were also present.
