Party to go on fundraising mission to support their campaign

CHENNAI: Lok Paritran, the new political party founded by IITians, has started issuing application forms for prospective candidates who want to contest the Assembly polls.

Tanmay Rajpurohit, party president, said, "Today, there are many who are disgruntled with the present state of affairs and keen on making a difference. And, they are looking for an appropriate platform to contribute to the existing polity."

"We call all those people who have the intent to serve the people and who intend to contest the upcoming elections with a view to taking a step in the right direction to join us and thereby build a force that is really one to be contended with," he added.

Party member Srikant Chakravarti said that Lok Paritran could be the platform for individuals working separately to pool their ideas and resources and ensure that the amalgam will result in something much stronger than the sum of the individual parts.

The party would soon go on a fundraising mission to support their campaign for the upcoming elections. "Even the best of intentions needs money to be put into practice and we hope that members of the public and corporate houses will come forward to help the cause gain momentum," Ajit Ashwalayan Shukla, party treasurer, said.

The application forms are on the website www.lokparitran.org.

The party's Tamil Nadu headquarters is located at New No. 60, Anjugam Nagar III Street, Ashok Nagar.
