Family welfare camp at Railway Hospital

A family welfare camp organised by East Coast Railway Hospital was inaugurated by D. Shaleel, additional general secretary of E.Co. Railway Shramik Union, here on Friday.

The acceptors were given special incentives in addition to the usual incentives given by the Railways. While the union gave a sari and blouse to each acceptor, the Lions Club of Visakhapatnam gave each one of them a hot carrier. In all, 12 sterilisation operations were performed at the camp.

Interactive session organised at VSP

An innovative and informal interactive session `Chairman to maata' was conducted by the Human Resources Department of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Friday.

The programme was organised for free exchange of ideas and to create a feeling of `oneness' of purpose and goals amongst each other. Chairman and Managing Director Y. Siva Sagar Rao fielded queries from employees on a range of issues.

Directors P. K. Bishnoi (finance), K. K. Rao (operations), K.A. Naidu (personnel), H.S. Chhatwal (commercial) and M.K. Das, chief vigilance officer were among those who participated in the interactive session.

IBM conducts campus recruitment drive

The leading computer firm IBM conducted a recruitment drive at Raghu Engineering College through the Institute for Electronic Governance on Thursday and Friday.

As many as 362 students from 65 engineering colleges from nine coastal districts and Khammam district attended the written test.

A total of 187 students were selected for the interview, out of which IBM selected 87.

Chairman of the college K. Raghu, Director S.V.S.S. Ramachandra Raju, Academic Director P.C. Raju and Principal S. Sambhu Prasad expressed their willingness to conduct more campus placement drives in future.
