Boy killed in road accident

VIJAYAWADA: An eight-year-old boy died when a Tata Sumo hit him at Nunna on the outskirts of the city on Friday.

According to the Two Town police, Pagadala Manikantha Babu, son of Madhava Rao, a resident of Kandriga Colony, was studying in fourth standard of RCM School, Nunna. He, along with his younger sister Malavika, a third standard student in the same school, was returning home from the school when the accident occurred. The police took vehicle driver Chandramouli into custody.

Mystery shrouds death

A person of Nepali origin died under mysterious circumstances at Vaagu Centre. The police said that the person climbed onto a hillock in the afternoon. Passers-by found that he was rolling from the hillock and went to rescue him. The person died on the way to the hospital.
