KSRTC terminates employee

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has terminated the service of a bus conductor, S. Suresh Kumar, on the charge that he had pilfered money from the Corporation's account by manipulating records. A press release issued here by the KSRTC said that Suresh Kumar was dismissed on the basis of a report given by the KSRTC, Executive Director, Vigilance, K.M.S. Panicker. — Staff Reporter

Inquiry demanded

Thiruvananthapuram: The Action Council Vellarada has demanded an inquiry into the circumstance of how certain witnesses in the Manichan pay off case turned hostile during trial. The demand was made at a press conference by president V. Resalayan. — Staff Reporter

Lok Adalat for women

Thiruvananthapuram: The District Legal Services Authority has joined hands with Abhaya to organise a monthly Lok Adalat to provide free legal aid for women. The adalat will be held every second Saturday from 10 a.m. at the Abhaya office at Athani, Vanchiyoor. Complainants are directed to submit their petitions before March 25 for the adalat scheduled for April 8. — Staff Reporter
