Burglary: one held

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kazhakuttam police have arrested one more person in connection with the theft of gold ornaments and foreign currency valued at Rs.8 lakhs from the house of one Shamshudeen in Kadhinamkulam.

Circle Inspector Muhammad Iqbal identified the accused as Sabu (22). Earlier, the police had arrested one Mansoor in connection with the crime. Sabu was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody for a period of 14 days.

Detained

The Kazhakuttam police have arrested a 38-year-old man on the charge of cheating. The police identified the accused as Shamnad of Varkala. The CI said Shamnad had coerced a 17-year-old girl into eloping with him by lying to her that he was unmarried. The accused was produced before the court and remanded.

Rape: accused traced

The Kazhkuttam police have traced the whereabouts of a 34-year-old man wanted in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl. The police identified the accused as Aji.
