Father alleges foul play in call centre executive's death

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Noida police are investigating the mysterious case of a 25-year-old call centre executive who allegedly jumped to his death from his apartment in Noida near here this past Tuesday. While his father has alleged foul play, the police suspect the man was in an inebriated state when he jumped from the balcony.

According to the Noida police, a security guard noticed Jaswinder Singh, a resident of IOC Apartments in Sector-62, soon after he fell from his third floor flat around midnight on Holi-eve. He was rushed to Fortis Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Wednesday.

Jaswinder, who worked at a Noida-based call centre, had invited a couple of friends for a party at his flat on the eve of Holi. However, an office colleague did not turn up. Jaswinder was apparently upset about it. In an inebriated state, he rushed towards the balcony and jumped down even as his friends tried to stop him.

`Head injury caused death'

Jaswinder's father, who flew in from Kolkata, however, alleged that it appeared that there was some foul play. The police, however, denied it. The post-mortem revealed that the death was caused due to a head injury. The Noida police have registered a case.
