Book release to mark Lohia birth anniversary

They will be released at nine functions simultaneously

BELLARY: Ten books will be released to mark the 96th birth anniversary of Ram Manohar Lohia here.

Chennabasavanna of Lohiya Prakashana said ten books published by him will be released at nine places in the State simultaneously on March 23.

Apart from Bellary, the books will be released at Ramadurg in Bijapur district, Udupi, Gulbarga, Gadag, Mysore, Belgaum, Haveri and Bangalore.

Mr. Chennabasavanna, who is a recipient of the "Best Publication Award" instituted by the

Kannada Book Authority to recognise his contribution to the field of publication, had organised a similar programme in five centres last year.

Works

Ayodhya: Vinashakari Vote Bank Rajakeeya, a collection of articles written by Madhu Limye and translated by Surkod; Sadhyakidu Huchchara Sante on the 1947 developments by Sadat Hasan Monto and translated by Surkod; Kadinaberu, a collection of stories by litterateur Amrita Preetam and translated Shantarasa; Atantra, a novel by Gururaj Marpalli; Vasundhareya Gyana, a collection of stories by H. Nagaveni; Maneyodyaniddano written by columnist S.G. Mysoremath; Shivajimoola Kannada Nela, a research work by Sarjoo Katkar; Company Sawaal, Nooru Goriya Deepa and Oorina Valegala Munde, collection of poems by Satish Kulkarni, Vinaya and R. Nirmala, respectively, are the books to be released.

Renowned critics and litterateurs, including Rajendra Chenni, A.S. Hippargi, M.M. Kalburi, Gurling Kapse, Sara Abubakkar, Mudenur Sanganna, Siddaling Pattanashetti, L. Basavaraj and Kadidal Shamanna will release the books.

The set of 10 books will be offered at a special discount price of Rs. 400.
