ISLAMABAD: At least seven persons, including six security personnel, were killed as a bomb ripped through a police vehicle in Dera Ismali Khan in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) on Sunday. According to the local police, the explosion was triggered by a remote control. It was timed to target a police vehicle on routine patrol near the town. Dera Ismali Khan is close to the Waziristan tribal region which has been the theatre of conflict between Pakistani forces and the suspected Al-Queda and Taliban militants for over three years. In Sunday's incident, six of the victims were killed on the spot while another died in the town's hospital.
