HYDERABAD: L. Rajagopal, MP and president of AP Olympic Association, gave a new definition to the spirit of team work and assured the sports fraternity that his visit as a member of the Indian contingent to the on-going Commonwealth Games in Melbourne would not be reduced to a pleasure trip but help him in getting rich experience to promote sports in a big way in the State. Responding to the felicitations organised by the APOA at Olympic Bhavan here on Sunday, Rajagopal, who incidentally will be witnessing a major sporting event abroad for the first time, said as an industrialist he had toured almost every country but this trip to Melbourne would be a different kind of experience. Being in the apex committee of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Rajagopal said he had a greater responsibility to come back with all required inputs to contribute in his own way to the success of the Delhi edition. Earlier, L.Venkatram Reddy, secretary of APOA, said it was an honour for the entire State to see their president as a special invitee for the Games. "With former APOPA chief H.J. Dora as the chef de mission of the Indian contingent in Melbourne, it is a wonderful coincidence that the incumbent chief will also be there," he pointed out.
