Traders rally today

NEW DELHI: Traders will take out a protest rally on Monday against the court order for sealing of shops in residential areas that has created panic among the residents. Also, the Confederation of All Indian Traders (CAIT) has given a "Delhi Bandh" call for Tuesday.

The protest rally will be taken out from Red Fort and will then proceed through Chandni Chowk, Nai Sadak and Chawari Bazaar before culminating at Ajmeri Gate. The CAIT claimed that the Delhi Government had not come out in support of the traders who are likely to be uprooted from their business establishments.

Amity corporate meet

NEW DELHI: Amity Business School at Manesar organised its fifth corporate meet --"Parichay-2006" -- at Gurgaon on Sunday in collaboration with the Gurgaon Industrial Association, Gurgaon Management Association, NCR Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Haryana Productivity Council -- Gurgaon Chapter, and IMT Industrial Association, Manesar.

The corporate meet is an annual event of Amity Business School where eminent personalities from various management fields, both corporate and academic, are invited for an informal interaction with students and faculty with a view to pool ideas and opinions for mutual advantage and developing close relationship. "Parichay-2006" provided a common platform to strengthen industrial - academic relations through experience sharing and networking.

Sports medicine workshop

NEW DELH: A Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Workshop -- 2006 was organised by the Sports Medicine Unit at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Sunday. The unique workshop was attended by over 125 delegates from across the country.

The workshop was a forum where experts came together to discuss the latest advancement in the field of sports medicine. The scientific session had sports medicine related topics like role of exercise on health of athletes and the common man, body structure of child and its importance in deciding which kind of sports the child would do well in, and awareness about the banned substances in sports.

Free eye camp

NEW DELHI: A free eye camp was organised on Sunday at Swati Public School by Tarun Mitra Parishad in association with New Kondli Market Association. The 52nd eye camp was inaugurated by area MLA Amreesh Gautam.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gautam appreciated the work being done by the Parishad, especially for the welfare of senior citizens.

According to the Parishad's general secretary Ashok Jain, a medical team from St. Stephen's Hospital checked 576 eye patients, gave them medicines and spectacles. Of these, 47 have been selected for cataract operations free of cost at the hospital.
