HYDERABAD: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), better known as Amul after its brand, on Sunday launched `Stamina,' touted as the country's first home-grown, instant energy sports drink in the city. `Stamina' is a whey-based high-protein drink with electrolytes, vitamins and minerals in an easily-digestible form, glucose, calcium, vitamin C and carbohydrates to give energy to spent muscles. Amul's Zonal Manager (South) J. Rajan said it was a refreshingly light, loaded with electrolytes, without unwanted calories in the form of carbohydrates. `Stamina' is priced at Rs.12 for a pack of 200 ml tetrapack, he said.
Canned one on the cards
The federation was working on other packaging options and would come out soon with canned `Stamina.' Interestingly, DIG of CRPF Radhakrishna, who sipped `Stamina' to mark its formal launch, said that sales at the Amul's exclusive outlet at the Barkas CRPF unit had one of the highest volumes. He appreciating the drink.
