Hoax callers nabbed
According to the police, the manager of the discotheque had lodged a complaint with the Special Cell saying that some men who were earlier denied entry were repeatedly making hoax calls to the Police Control Room about explosives being planted in the discotheque. The police said the accused, later identified as Vinesh Tomar, Arjun Shah and Shivraj Singh, had made one hoax call on March 1, six calls on March 2, another three on March 7, one on March 8 and two more on March 9. Since, giving false information to the public servant was not a cognisable offence, the police sought permission from the court to initiate a formal inquiry against the accused. The court granted the permission on Saturday following which the accused were arrested. They were traced with the help of mobile phone numbers that were recorded in the PCR logbook. Vinesh, a resident of Neb Sarai, was using a number registered in his father's name, while Arjun and Shivraj, both residents of Greater Kailash-I, used their phones to make the calls. The police have recovered two mobile phones from the accused. Further investigations in the case are on.
