VISAKHAPATNAM: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will organise road shows for spot registration of applications for mobile phones, fixed WLL phones and landline phones from Thursday. Applicants will be given the telephone instrument and immediate connection, wherever feasible. The mobile vans would be stationed at Dwarakanagar (near Sai Ram Parlour) on March 23, Dondaparthy (near Sri Surya Theatre) on March 26, LIC junction (near Ambedkar statue) on March 28 and Ramnagar Bazar on March 31. Those who require only incoming facility can pay a refundable deposit of Rs.500, those who need outgoing facility also have to pay a refundable deposit of Rs.1,000 and they would be given ITC cards worth Rs.500 free of cost. Applicants who go for `One India' connection would have to pay a refundable deposit of Rs.2,000. The applicants must possess a passport photograph and proof of residence like a ration card, photo identity card or driving licence. The Divisional Engineer (marketing) B. Viswanadha Rao and Area Manager (north) J.V. Raja Reddy appealed to the public to avail of the opportunity.
