NEW DELHI: Both the Houses of Parliament will sit till March 22, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi announced on Monday clarifying doubts over the continuation of the Lok Sabha in this extended first part of the Budget session. Mr. Dasmunsi said that though the Finance Bill had been approved and passed by the Lok Sabha on Monday, the "House has to function till the Finance Bill is finally disposed of by the Rajya Sabha." If any amendments are accepted by the Upper House, the Bill will have to be looked at again by the Lower House. In the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, the House will see Mr. Dasmunsi as Information and Broadcasting Minister reply to the debate on his Ministry. Talking to reporters, Mr. Dasmunsi said that he would try and ensure that the proposed 24-hour Lok Sabha television channel from May 10 was put on Doordarshan's Direct-to-Home platform. He would also be talking to others offering DTH platforms.
