VINUKONDA (GUNTUR DT.): The Vinukonda unit of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has threatened to launch an agitation if the Transco authorities did not restore electricity connection to Kandrika, Gollapalli, Ravulapuram and Gangapalli villages immediately. Speaking to reporters after touring the villages, TDP leaders led by State unit secretaries Kagitapu Venkata Rao and Jaleel Khan said that electricity was cut off to the villages as a few of the villagers did not pay their electricity bills. "The authorities instead of dealing with the households concerned have disconnected the power to the entire villages. The villagers were in darkness for the last four days," they said. They warned of an agitation in front of the sub-station if the electricity was not restored within the next 24 hours. The `Telugu Desam to every village' (Palle palle ku Telugu Desam) programme launched by the party across the 294 Assembly constituencies was well received by the people.
