Register FIRs, police told

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday said that strict instructions had been issued to the police department to register First Information Reports immediately after getting information about an incident. He said "goondaism'' would not be allowed to flourish in the State.

He was talking to media persons in Kaithal where he visited the family of local industrialist Narinder Arora who was murdered recently. He said that stern action would be taken against the killers.

Mr. Hooda asserted that the criminals in the State were not "protected'' and they were now fleeing from the State thanks to effective steps being taken to improve the law and order situation. He urged the people to inform the police immediately upon getting information about any criminal.

He claimed that the law and order situation had improved and the crime graph had declined considerably. The local Congress MLA, Shamsher Singh Surjewala, said the Government was serious about checking criminal activities.
