CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh police on Tuesday arrested four alleged terrorists reportedly owing allegiance to the Babbar Khalsa outfit. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Gaurav Yadav, told media persons that the four, identified as Dilbagh Singh, Sukhvinder Singh alias Bullet, Balbir Singh alias Nepali and Ranjit Singh, were arrested from Sector 11 here. The police claim to have recovered an AK-47 assault rifle, a 1.38-bore rifle and one kg RDX from them, he added. They also recovered detonators and other material required for making bomb. The arrests came a day after the Delhi police arresting the Babbar Khalsa chief for India, Paramjit Singh Bheora, on Monday. Interestingly, he had escaped from the high-security Burail Jail here on January 21, 2004, along with Jagtar Singh Hawara and two others after digging a tunnel. The Delhi police had arrested Hawara in June last year. Police officials said that investigations were on to ascertain the "links'' of these militants. According to preliminary investigations, the four militants belonged to one of the modules created by the Babbar Khalsa to revive militancy in Punjab.
