Water supply at low pressure

NEW DELHI: Due to annual flushing of booster pumping station and underground reservoir, water supply will be affected in all blocks of Janakpuri except D-Block, Asaledpur Village, Poshangipur Village and Virender Nagar on Wednesday and Thursday.

A Delhi Jal Board release said supply would also be at low pressure on Thursday evening in Greater Kailash-I and II, Defence Colony, Andrews Ganj, South Extension, Chiragh Dilli, Kalkaji Janata Flats, Ramlila Grounds, Nirankari Colony, Municipal Corporation of Delhi Colony and Indira Vikas Colony.

Residents have been advised to store sufficient water in advance. Tankers will be available on telephone (No. 28525659 D-Block Janakpuri), (25274679 - Paschim Vihar), (29814106 - Jal Sadan) and (29234746 - Greater Kailash).

Annual function of Eurokids

NEW DELHI: Eurokids, a pre-school education provider, organised its annual "Eurostars 2006" at its Delhi and National Capital Region schools this past week.

The students performed ball dance, butterfly dance and aerobics and sang songs. A lucky draw for parents was also organised offering exotic holiday trips and exciting prizes. A contest for the non-Eurokids was held in which kids were asked to draw on the theme `Holi'.

Communication and IT show

NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Shakeel Ahmed inaugurated the 14th Convergence India 2006 -- South Asia's largest communication and IT event -- here on Tuesday. Being held at Pragati Maidan, the event aims at bringing the mobile and communication fraternity closer.

With India's leading mobile service providers displaying the latest technologies and services, the show provides an international platform for business. The theme this year is "Ushering in the ICT Revolution". Apart from 23 countries, there are 386 exhibitors showcasing their work.

"Fauji Mela'' from April 1

NEW DELHI: The Army Wives' Welfare Association (AWWA) is organising a ten-day "Fauji Mela'' at Dilli Haat here from April 1. The aim is to showcase the contribution of AWWA and the Army in nation-building.

The `mela' will have unique handicraft items from different regions of the country. It will also give artisans and women entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their products. Products made at the Vocational Training Centres and Regimental Centres by wives or dependants of Army personnel will also be on display. The proceeds will be used for welfare of Army widows and their dependents as well as ex-Servicemen.
