NALGONDA: Duping cheats is not an easy task. It involves a lot of intelligence and considerable risk. The Nalgonda police on Tuesday arrested two persons who allegedly made money by duping counterfeit currency racketeers in Nalgonda and Warangal districts.

Additional Superintendent of Police K. Krishnaswamy told reporters that Vallamdasu Sattaiah, Dusa Jangaiah of Nalgond and Perumalla Narasaiah of Warangal ganged up and came out with sa grand plan.

They allegedly chose to dupe those making a fast buck by circulating fake currency notes.

No big process

According to the ASP, the trio dipped a few hundred rupee notes in a chemical to turn them black in colour. They placed such notes in bundles of black papers.

"Later they approached people who were ready to circulate counterfeit currency. They took a black currency note and cleaned it up in the presence of their customers using some chemicals," Mr. Krishna Swamy revealed. "They made prospective buyers believe that all the bundles contained similar notes," he added.

For every real hundred-rupee note they give away two fake ones. "The buyers later came to know that many of the notes were nothing but black paper. But by this time the trio had disappeared from the scene," the officer said while producing Jangaiah and Narsaiah at the press conference. The main accused Sattaiah is absconding.

Jangaiah demonstrated to reporters how a black hundred-rupee note could be washed with chemicals. The trio reportedly duped Narayana of Hayatnagar, Devender of Pochampally, Venkatesham of Valigonda, Vadla Mogili and Palle Ashok of Mulugu Ghanpur.

Protected by fear

Surprisingly they did not ask the trio why they had turned the counterfeit notes black.

Those who were duped could not approach the police, as their true colours would be exposed once they knocked on the doors of the police.

On a tip-off, the II town police led by Sub Inspector Srinivasa Reddy nabbed the duo at the local railway station.
