Chief Minister to launch automated parking system at railway station

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD : Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will formally inaugurate the automated parking system at the Secunderabad railway station on the Bhoiguda side on March 23.

Touted to be the first such system in the country it will have a ticket dispenser installed at the entry point to detect arrival of vehicles for issuing a magnetically-coded ticket indicating the time and date of arrival of the vehicle.

Once the ticket is collected, the barrier automatically opens to let the car in for parking. A manual pay station at the exit point collects the ticket and inserts the same into the machine, which will then calculate the fee to be paid.
