PNDT Act: call for total compliance

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes' Association has `requested' all nursing homes, hospitals and diagnostic centres in the State to put up display boards stating that sex determination tests are wrong.

In a statement here on Tuesday, president and general secretary respectively of the association - E. Ravindra Reddy and P. Pulla Reddy - asked establishments not to reveal sex of the foetus.

Asking hospitals and diagnostic centres to strictly implement the Pre-natal Diagnostics Techniques (PNDT) Act strictly, they said the institutions should help Government machinery when officials came for inspection.

They asked hospitals and diagnostic centres to send monthly reports to the MCH before 5th of every month. Appreciating the efforts of Hyderabad Collector and DMHO in implementing the Act, they appealed to officials not to ill-treat doctors.
