Court stays regularisation of Imax

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the High Court on Tuesday directed the Government not to go ahead with the proposed regularisation of Imax and Central Multiplex theatre buildings or other multi-storied buildings in Hyderabad until further orders.

The Bench was passing these orders taking note of the report of Director-General of Fire Safety and Commissioner of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

Explanation sought

In another case, a Division Bench directed the authorities to explain how an education institution was permitted in an industrial area in Medchal. The bench was passing these orders in a writ petition filed by Neeraja College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology complaining about pollution when it came to the notice of the court that the area was in an industrial area.
