Three houses burgled; cash, jewellery stolen

BANGALORE: Three houses were burgled in different parts of the city on Monday night.

The house of Mohit Kumar, a software engineer, was burgled and ornaments worth Rs. 50,000 were taken away in Hennur police station limits.

According to police, the incident occurred when Mr. Kumar and his wife went to work. When they returned home in the night they found that somebody had entered their house and had taken away the ornaments.

Cash and jewellery gold ornaments, in all worth about Rs. 30,000, were stolen from a house of Narayan Pujari, a manager of a garment company, in RMV 2nd Stage in Sanjay Nagar police station limits. Police said the ornaments and Rs. 3,000 were kept on the table in Mr. Pujari's bedroom on Monday night. When he woke up in the morning, he found that somebody had stolen the ornaments and the cash.

Cash and bakery items were stolen from a bakery on Wheelers Road in Bharati Nagar police station limits. According to police, some persons had entered the bakery by breaking a window.

Chain snatched

A teacher was relieved of her gold chain worth Rs. 30,000 when she was walking at Dobbapete Circle on Kammanahalli Main Road in Hennur police station limits on Monday night. Meenakshi of Kammanahalli, who teaches in SJR Public School, has filed a complaint with the Hennur police.

Mobile phone snatched

An autorickshaw driver snatched away a mobile phone worth Rs. 5,000 from a private company employee on Banaswadi Main Road in Fraser Town police station limits on Monday night. The incident happened when Shiba Sunil was speaking on the mobile phone.
