NEW DELHI: A day after they called on the Delhi Police Commissioner, Bina Ramani and her daughter Malini were on Tuesday reportedly questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is probing lapses in investigations in the Jessica Lal murder case that led to the acquittal of all nine accused. However, the police remained tight-lipped about individuals who were questioned. Special Commissioner of Police (Intelligence) Umesh Kumar Katna, who is heading the SIT, said a dozen people, including police officers, were questioned in connection with the case registered in the wake of the acquittals. The team reportedly questioned Ms. Ramani about how the incident unfolded at Qutub Colonnade in Mehrauli on the night of April 29, 1999. She was also reportedly taken to the spot where the incident had occurred. After completing examination of documents in the case, the team begun questioning police officers connected with the case. The investigating officer in the murder case was also questioned this past week.
