Further fall in rupee
MUMBAI:
The rupee closed sharply weak against the dollar and lost another seven paise on Wednesday due to increased dollar buying by banks and corporates along with rise in dollar against other world currencies.
In active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market here, the rupee opened lower at Rs. 44.45/47 a dollar from overnight close of 44.43/44 and continued to lean down, before ending at Rs. 44.50/51, showing a sharp fall of seven paise over the previous close.
