Chandigarh: The alleged acts of commission and omission of the Chautala regime became the centre of discussion in the Assembly on Wednesday even as irked Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) members staged a walkout. Though INLD president Om Prakash Chautala has not been attending the House for the past one year citing health grounds, the treasury benches led by Chief Minister B. S. Hooda did not let any opportunity pass by without criticising him and his previous regime. The day began with the Question Hour and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala, who has had to face the boycott by INLD members during the ongoing Budget session over the Volcker Committee issue, fired the first salvo and asked INLD legislators to put their hands on their ears as they have been doing earlier to register their protest. Irked, the INLD members protested and one of their MLAs Sita Ram was warned by the Speaker on a couple of occasions after which they walked out of the House and boycotted the Question Hour. Later again, Finance Minister Birender Singh during his reply on the debate on Budget targeted Chautala and accused him of having behaved like an ``autocrat'' during his tenure.
