Rs. 80,000 stolen from motorcycle
Staff Reporter
TAMBARAM:
A man lost Rs. 80,000 in cash from the side box of his motorcycle at Sembakkam on Wednesday, soon after he withdrew it from a bank in nearby Rajakilpakkam.
According to police sources, F. Muller of Selaiyur had withdrawn Rs. 30,000 from the bank and kept it in the motorcycle's side box, which already had Rs. 50,000. He then went to Sembakkam, and parked his motorcycle opposite a tea stall near the bus stop there, where he had some work. When he returned, he noticed the lock of the side box broken open and the money missing.
He has lodged a complaint with the Selaiyur police. In a similar incident in November, a man lost Rs. 1.5 lakhs in cash, minutes after he withdrew the amount from the same bank.
