CII's `vision' impresses YSR

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has appreciated the CII Andhra Pradesh for creating the vision documents for the textile industry and promoting small and medium enterprises cluster for Hyderabad.

Addressing the CII Andhra Pradesh Annual day here on Wednesday, after releasing the project reports on textile industry, SME cluster and HIV/AIDS intervention, he lauded the organisation for building partership with the State AIDS Control Society to fight the virus in the State's industrial community. According to the report, the textile sector will provide 1.35 million jobs by the year 2015. It envisages an investment of Rs.316 billion.

Fair play stressed

The Chief Minister called upon the industry to focus more attention on proper pricing and quality so as to be in readiness to face global competition.

Ministers K. Rosaiah, J. Geeta Reddy, G. Vinod, R. Parasu Raman, chairman, CII southern region, M.K. Patodia, chairman, CII AP, and G. Vivekanand, vice-chairman, spoke.

Addressing the earlier session, Pralada, chief controller (R&D), DRDL, said an aero park would be set up in Hyderabad with an estimated investment of Rs. 10,000 crores.
