Plastic ban: court directive

HYDERABAD:
Three senior officers of the State Government have been directed by the High Court to appear in person to explain the action plan on the ban on use of recycled plastic and thin plastic bags which is not being implemented.
A Division Bench of the court was dealing with a writ petition filed by Radhabai, a resident of old city, complaining about the failure of the authorities in maintaining cleanliness of old city area.
On Wednesday, it directed that the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration, and Principal Secretary, Environment, be present before the court next week.
