Two injured in quarry blast
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
Two labourers were injured and two houses and some vehicles were damaged in a powerful blast at a stone quarry in Koramangala police station limits on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at the quarry situated at Bovi Colony in Kasavanahalli on Sarajapur Road.
Explosives
The police said that around 8 a.m., the labourers triggered an explosion using explosives at the quarry.
As they had used the explosives in excess, the boulders flew and fell on two adjoining houses and some two-wheelers parked near the stone quarry, damaging them.
Two labourers, Gowramma (38) and Lokanath (48), were injured.
Out of danger
They were treated at a nearby hospital. They are out of danger, the police said.
According to the police, Rama Reddy owns the 50-year-old quarry.
The Koramangala police have registered a case.
