BANGALORE: In a swift action, the Cheetah mobile patrol squad of the Yeshwanthapur police station chased and caught three persons who allegedly stole rice and other goods from a provision stores on Tuesday night. The police said that around 10.30 p.m., three men came to Rathnaiah's provision stores on 1st Main Road, Yeshwanthapur, and pretended to buy banana and "gutka" sachets. When Rathnaiah went inside the shop to fetch the articles, the three stole a 50 kg rice bag, 20 coconuts and a coin telephone box and escaped in a car. An onlooker, who noted down the registration number of the car, passed it on to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Yeshwanthapur) Prathap Singh, who rushed to the spot. Mr. Singh flashed the registration number of the vehicle on the wireless. Head Constable Narayanappa and Constable Govindaraj of the Cheetah squad intercepted the car near 2nd Main Road, B.K. Nagar.
Car abandoned
On seeing the policemen, the occupants of the car abandoned the vehicle and ran away. The two policemen chased the three on their motorcycle and caught them. Their names were given as Sadashiva (30), car driver, Madusudhan (29) and Kishore (30), all residents of Yeshwanthapur. The police have seized the car and recovered the stolen goods.
