Service tax registration mela today

Thiruvananthapuram: A registration mela will be conducted for the benefit of service providers on Thursday at the office of the Central Excise, ICE Bhavan, Press Club road from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The registration is free. Copy of the PAN along with address proof is sufficient. Registration will be granted immediately. Certain new services have come under the service tax net from March 1, 2006, particularly call centres, medical transcription centres, management consultants, railway catering service, catering for hospitals and educational institutions.
