This Day That Age
Members of Parliament, who now get free rail passes, are shortly expected to get free telephones and, possibly, also free air tickets. Mr. Jagjivan Ram, Communications Minister, told the Lok Sabha on March 22, in reply to demands made by some members during the debate on his Ministry's budget, that he had no objection to giving members telephones and facilities for air travel on the same terms as on the railways (the members get them free but the cost is borne by Parliament).
