Exploiting adversity

Politicians have developed the art of converting even adversities into opportunities. JD(S) leader Deve Gowda who was saddened when his son aligned with the BJP has now extended his blessing and support to H.D. Kumaraswamy. Another example is of MDMK leader Vaiko joining the AIADMK on the eve of elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly for a few extra seats. He had no qualms about forgetting his imprisonment under POTA.

The latest was the UPA Government's bid to bring in an ordinance to overcome the danger of disqualification of its beloved leaders. This is the sort of democracy we nourish and feel proud of.
