JAIPUR: A group of persons, allegedly members of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, forcibly entered the Jaipur district office of the Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) here on Thursday morning and ransacked property and damaged office documents. Office secretary Shakaldev Singh sustained injuries in the attack. This is the second attack on the office of any Left party here this year. About a month ago, activists of the Shiv Sena and the Bajrang Dal had attacked the new State office of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Hatwara Road and its former office at B 4 MLA Quarters while protesting against comments by Brinda Karat on the medicines of Swami Ramdev. The day's attack on the CITU office, situated opposite to the Birla-owned factory, National Ballbearing Company (NBC) had something to do with intra-union rivalry between the CPI (M)-led trade union and the BMS, affiliated to the Bharatiya Janata Party. According to eyewitness accounts, the attack took place around 10-30 a.m. and continued for 30 to 45 minutes. The miscreants broke office furniture, shelves and the windowpanes and scattered office papers. State secretary CPI (M) expressing serious concern over the attack said the incident took place in the presence of the police. "It was all pre-planned. The fascist forces are unhappy about the party upholding the causes of farmers, workers and minorities in Rajasthan," he charged. In a joint statement Prof.Vasudev and party MLA Amra Ram said the whole development appeared as a pre-mediated act as the police, which did not stop the vandalism.
