ALAPPUZHA: Ombudsman for local bodies K.P. Radhakrishna Menon has said that corruption in public life and administration can be minimised if the Right to Information Act passed by the Union Government is used effectively. He was inaugurating a seminar on the `Right to information,' organised by the Public Relations Department at Raiban Auditorium here on Thursday. Mr. Menon said there was an increase in corruption owing to lack of transparency in administration. He said the Act in the present form had certain limitations and necessary amendments should be incorporated into it to make it more effective. Additional district magistrate K.G. Vijayan presided over the programme. Alappuzha Bar Association president V. Mohandas and Literacy Mission Programme Officer M.K. Samad spoke on the occasion.
