High Court directs MCD to dismiss guilty officials

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to dismiss any official found guilty of conniving with builder mafia in permitting illegal construction in the Capital.

A Division Bench of Justice Vijendra Jain and Justice Rekha Sharma appointed four advocates as Court Commissioners in four zones -- South Delhi, Central Delhi, Karol Bagh and Rohini -- to identify unauthorised buildings.

The Municipal Corporation has been asked to assist the Court Commissioners. The High Court said it was not satisfied with the cosmetic demolition going on in the Capital. - UNI
