|
Says the ICCR chairmanship is not an office of profit
|
New Delhi:
Congress Rajya Sabha member Karan Singh on Thursday night resigned from the House, sources in the party said.
He had been accused by the Opposition of holding an "office of profit" by being chairman of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
The sources said Dr. Singh had sent his resignation letter to Rajya Sabha chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Dr. Singh is also chairman of the Ethics Committee of the House. PTI
