GUNTUR: Some 2,000 Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) drawn from various places in Guntur district will be given training on AIDS awareness in a programme to be undertaken by CHARCA, Andhra Pradesh Aids Control Society, Jana Vignana Vedika and Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Association. Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, JVV State unit president V. Lakshmana Reddy said: "When the RMPis made aware, he can, in turn help in educating people," Mr. Reddy said. The two-day training would be held in small batches from March 26 to April 6 at G.V.S and R Women's Degree College in Guntur. For RMPs from Guntur, Guntur rural on March 26, 27, Sattenapalli, Narsaraopet and Vinukonda regions on March 28 and 29, Piduguralla, Dachepalli and Krosuru regions on 30 and 31. RMPs from Macherla, Gurazala, Amaravathi and Mangalagiri regions on April 1 and 2, Tenali Repalle, Ponnuru and Bapatla regions on April 3 and 4 and for RMPs from Nizampatnam, Chilakaluripet and other regions on April 5 and 6. The RMPs would be given free food, accommodation and travel expenses apart from Rs. 100 honorarium per day.
