HYDERABAD: Even as Congress legislators from Telangana and Andhra crossed swords over implementation of GO 610, the State Government on Friday issued a memo for repatriating as many as 2,938 police personnel working in Hyderabad back to their local areas. Among the policemen identified for repatriation now, 2,321 are in the civil category up to the rank of assistant sub-inspector. They include 2,074 constables, 230 head-constables, and one assistant sub-inspector (ASI). The rest belong to the Armed Reserved category and include 580 constables, 52 head-constables and an ASI. The Government may issue another memo soon for shifting of non-local Sub-Inspectors and Inspectors. The Director-General of Police was asked to repatriate these non-local policemen to their local areas.
