HYDERABAD: A four-member high-level delegation headed by Sports Minister M. Satyanarayana Rao visited various stadia in Melbourne during their official visit of the Commonwealth Games. Chitra Ramachandran, secretary, Youth Services and Sports, G. Kamala Vardhana Rao, SAAP VC & MD, M.S. Raj Thakur, SAAP chairman, were the other members of the delegation. In the company of Gen Kapoor and Commodore S.C. Joshi from the Ministry of Defence, the Andhra team studied various aspects on the organisational front, as Hyderabad will be hosting the 2007 World Military Games featuring 5000 athletes including 150 Olympic medallists.
SAI certificate courses
Sports Authority of India will organise a six-week certificate course for men and women from May 17 to June 25 at five centres. The centres are Patiala, Bangalore, Aurangabad, Gandhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram and Kolkata. Entries close on March 31 and further details can be had from the deputy director, SAAP, LB Stadium.
