BIJAPUR: The Bijapur City Municipal Council (CMC) on Thursday promised that it will make efforts to supply safe drinking water once in four days. Raising the issue at the general body meeting of the city municipal council here, councillor Vyasaray Diwanji said though the authorities promised to take steps to ease the drinking water shortage in the last meeting, the situation in the city has not improved. People are getting water once in 10 days now.
Poor quality
The quality of water is also poor, he added. Councillors Ravi Bagali, Anwar Jamadar, Kamalsab Pasha, Abdul Razak Horthi, Sharada Hiremath, Raju Magimath, Gajanan Choudhary, Milind Chanchalkar, Vijaykumar Mangalwede, Prakash Mirji and Basheer Ahmed Hungund and Vice-President of the Bijapur City Municipal Council Sajida Begum Kaladagi supported Mr. Diwanji's views.
Promise
President of the Bijapur City Municipal Council Abdul Razak Loni, Commissioner Srikant Kattimani and Executive Engineer K.K. Jaliberi promised that the city municipal council will take steps to supply safe drinking water once in four days at the earliest.
