Seven pre-university students debarred in Gulbarga district

14 expelled from examination halls in various centres

CRUCIAL TEST: Second year pre-university students writing the examination at a centre in Gulbarga on Friday.

GULBARGA: Seven second-year pre-university students were debarred and 14 were expelled from examination centres for copying and indulging in other examination malpractices in the district on Friday.

Deputy Director of the Pre-University Education Board C.R. Naduvinamani said here that while three students were debarred at the Farhaan Educational Institution, three more were debarred at the National College. A student was debarred at the Vijaya Vidyalaya Pre-University College in Gulbarga.

He said that 12 students were expelled from examination centres in Surpur. Similarly, two students were expelled in Gulbarga, he added.

Tight security

Mr. Naduvinamani said 27,600 students appeared for the examination in the district. Security has been tightened around the examination centres.

24 debarred in Bijapur

Bijapur Staff Correspondent reports: 24 second-year pre-university students were debarred in the district.

S.M. Kanbur, Deputy Director of Pre-University and Vocational Education, said that 16 students were debarred in Bijapur and four each in Tikota and Indi centres. A total of 15,600 second-year pre-university students appeared for the examination in the district on Friday.
