NEW DELHI: This is Delhi's chance to see the "desi" chariot of fire. While it won't be the real thing, there will be a replica of the famous Sun Temple of Konark in sand right in the heart of the city at Dilli Haat for the Orissa festival. There will also a tiny version of the famous Raghurajpuri village of Puri, which is known for its art and craft. The land of `ikat', Orissa has not only spectacular architecture, but also wonderful weaving techniques. And giving people a chance to glimpse into the rich cultural tradition of the State, the office of the Resident Commissioner of Orissa is planning to have something special practically each day. From showcasing folk and classical dance, there will be a whole range of performances to choose from -- Odissi, Chahu, Sambalpuri, Ghoda Nacha, Ghumura, Rannap, Shankadhwani, Goptipua, Jodi Sankha. Apart from picking up the steps to dance in Orissa, visitors will also get to taste the mouth-watering food from the State. The festival begins on March 27 and is open up to March 31.
